Recovering from my first bout with Crohn's disease in Anchorage, Alaska in 1991. Doctors put me on the metabolic steroid, Prednisone, which made me gain 50 pounds and turned my face round. The stuff was horrible. They said I'd have to take Prednisone for the rest of my life, but I stopped after a little more than a year and I've been off it since 1991.
