Nazi experiment

Nazi experiment

Hanna Heofer, 3, was among the youngest victims of Austrian psychiatrist Heinrich Gross who assisted in euthanasia of more than 700 children at a Nazi hospital in Vienna during World War II. After the war, Gross used some of the brains in his research. The brains of the children, including the head of Heofer, were discovered in the basement of a Vienna hospital in 1997. Gross was put on trial in 2000, but was later released after he was ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial.
